All Saint's Day
On this day people eat "Saint's Bones".  These are white marzipan sweets shaped like bones.


05 November

Bon Fire Night
Throughout Britain, towns and villages light bonfires and let off fireworks.  A home made model of a man - Guy Fawkes - is burnt on the bonfire.  The day is to celebrate the fact that Parliament and James 1st were not blown up by Guy Fawkes.  

People usually cook potatoes wrapped in foil.  Other food includes sausages cooked over the flames and marshmallows toasted on the fire.


11 November

St Martin's Day
People eat St Martins goose.  The goose is eaten in remembrance of St Martin.


11 November

Remembrance Day
A special day set aside to remember all the people who were killed during the two World Wars and other Wars.  People wear a red poppy.


30 November

St Andrew's Day
St Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland.  St Andrew's Day is a celebration of general Scottishness.  People eat traditional Scottish food, such as haggis.  There is lots of music (especially bagpipes) and dancing.
