Turn on the oven to 220/ fan 200c / Gas 7

Put the diced beef stake into a large mixing bowl.

Peel and cut an onion into small pieces.
Add to the mixing bowl.

Peel 1 medium sized potato and cut into small pieces.
Add to the mixing bowl.
|
|
|
Peel 1 medium sized potato and cut into small pieces.
Add to the mix bow.

Break 1 egg into a bowl and beat.
Put to one side.

Sprinkle a little bit of flour onto the surface where you are going to roll the dough.
Cut the dough into 4 sections.
Roll each piece into a circle.
The circle should be about 23cm across.

Put a plate on top of the dough and trim about the edges.

Divide the filling into 4.
Put the filling on one half of each circle but leave a gap at each end.

Put a bit of butter on top of the filling.
|
 |
Brush the edges of each circle with a beaten egg.
|
 |
Carefully fold over the pastry.
Then use your fingers to seal the edges together.

Brush the tops with egg.
|
 |
|
Grease a baking tray with a little butter.
Put the pasties onto the baking tray.
|
 |

Put in the over for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes lower the oven to 180c / fan 160c / Gas 4
Cook for another 45 minutes until the pastry is golden.

Serve warm and enjoy!
