"Flaounes"
Women from the local village showed the group how to make “Flaounes”.  “Flaounes” are traditional Easter Cheese Breads which are made on Good Friday.  Everyone then had a go at making their own “Flaones”.

The “Flaounes” are then baked in a very big oven!

  Hand Painted Eggs

Below are pictures of the group painting Eggs. This is in preparation for a traditional Cypriot game which is played on Easter Sunday. Each person takes an egg and challenges attempt to crack each others' eggs. The breaking of the eggs is meant to symbolize Christ breaking from the Tomb. The person whose egg lasts the longest is assured good luck for the rest o f the year.

Meze

The group enjoying their "Meze".  This is a meal consisting of a selection of local dishes, from delicious dips and vegetable to a variety of fish and meats.  There was around 20-30 plates of food.  The group were in their element!
